Today we also spotlight Ancestral Discoveries created by Janice M. Sellers on 15 January 2011.

This is the second blogiversary to be celebrated on 15 January 2025.  If you’ve noticed that she is also celebrating her 14th blogiversary—like Lisa Gorrell—it’s because they took the same class at the same time with the California Genealogical Society!

Janice is originally from Los Angeles, California, but now lives in Oregon. She is also a very busy lady as she is a member of the Council for Advancement of Forensic Genealogy, Jewish Genealogical Society of Oregon, San Francisco Bay Area Jewish Genealogical Society, Jewish Genealogical Society of Long Island, Genealogical Forum of Oregon, Oberlin African-American Genealogy & History Group, Genealogical Speakers Guild and the Association of Professional Genealogists.

She is also currently serving on the GeneaBloggers board as our treasurer.

Janice started blogging because she wanted to have a way to share all the family stories that she had been told by her mother and grandmother. Besides sharing her own ancestral stories, Janice shares methodology and items she finds interesting in genealogy along with publicizing events being held by societies to which she belongs in addition to “generally just hanging out and yakking about family history.”

Three posts that Janice would like to share are:

Janice is active on social media and can be found on Facebook and LinkedIn.

Be sure to visit Ancestral Discoveries to say hi to Janice and congratulate her on Blogiversary #14.
