Lois Abromitis Mackin, Ph.D., has been blogging at Lois Abromitis Mackin, Ph.D. since 2011. She lives in Minnesota and belongs to the Association of Professional Genealogists, National Genealogical Society, numerous state, local, and ethnic societies. The purpose of her blog is to provide a platform where she can share with the genealogy community what she considers important about her work.
Lois has always been a writer. Beginning in 2009, she published research and teaching articles in the journals of the societies in which she held membership. She finds that blogging is a way to put out short pieces—sometimes topical, related to what’s going on in the world of genealogy or her personal world, and sometimes summarizing research—to a wider audience.
Some blog posts include:
- The Case of the Disappearing Daughters, Part 2
- Working with POISON DNA Segments
- Trying a New Tool for New York Immigration Records
Happy Blogiversary Lois!
