Amanda Pape has been blogging at ABT UNK since 2009. Amanda was born in Illinois and currently resides in Texas, where she is a member of the Texas State Genealogical Society. She began blogging after being inspired by Thomas MacEntee’s Geneabloggers and Advent Calendar of Christmas Memories.
She created her blog as a way of sharing family stories, and acting as cousin bait (which works!). Amanda writes frequently about places in her blog: Chicago, Evanston, and Springfield, Illinois; Houston, Corpus Christi, Austin, San Antonio, and lots of smaller places in Texas, Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington – all places where she or her ancestors have lived.
Some blog posts include:
- Edward Pape’s C File
- Sentimental Sunday: My Stuff in a Museum Exhibit!Blog posts
- Those Places Thursday: “The Big House,” 7000 Ridge, Chicago, Illinois, 1927-28
Surname of interest include Pape, Guokas, Wolfe, Banavicius, Massmann, Shelton, Kramer, Dienes, Matheis, Spikes, Carroll, Bridges, Gresham, Moore, Dickson, Jones, Self, Wilbanks, Peach, Lawson, Johnson, and Myers
Happy Blogiversary Amanda!
