We have a thirteenth (!) blogiversary this month and my apologies go to GeneaBlogger Alex Daw, who celebrated her 13th blogiversary on New Year’s Day. Alex formerly lived in Canberra and Sydney, Australia, but today resides in Brisbane.

Alex is the author of Family Tree Frog, begun after distinguished careers as an Information Specialist in multiple fields. She first worked for ABC broadcasting in Brisbane and set up the office of the Australian Film Television and Radio School in Queensland, which is a Commonwealth Government statutory authority. In 2012, Alex earned her Masters degree in Information Management (Librarianship) and started the next phase of her work life with the Moreton Bay Regional Council Libraries in Local History. From there she served as a supervisor and Acting Branch Librarian before becoming the Branch Librarian with the Gold Coast City Council.

Alex began her blog because her BFF told her she would like it and she says her friend was right! Her purpose for blogging was to reflect on the practice of being a genealogist, which is a great focus.

Here are three posts that Alex would like to share:

Alex is active with both the Society of Australian Genealogists and the Queensland Family History Society.

She is active on Facebook, Instagram and Blue Sky and has also joined Substack.

Please take a virtual trip Down Under and wish Alex a happy blogiversary!
