Penn died July 30, 1718, at Buckinghamshire, England.Presidential Proclamation 5284 of Nov 28, 1984, conferred honorary US citizenship on William Penn and his second wife, Hannah Callowhill Penn. They were the third and fourth persons to receive honorary US citizenship (following Winston Churchill and Raoul Wallenberg).
