V-J Day – Anniversary

Aug 14, 1945. Anniversary of President Harry Trumans announcement that Japan had surrendered to the Allies, setting off celebrations across the US. Official ratification of surrender occurred aboard the USS Missouri at Tokyo Bay, Sept 2
