Navajo Code TalkersThe Navajo Nation Council has established Aug 14 of each year as a tribal holiday recognizing and honoring the distinguished record of the Code Talkers during WWII. The Code Talkers transmitted military messages in the Navajo language during the war, and Axis powers were unable to break the code.
