The official celebration begins at 11 PM, Sept 15 and continues through Sept 16. On the night of the 15th, the president of Mexico steps onto the balcony of the National Palace at Mexico City and voices the same El Grito (Cry for Freedom) that Father Hidalgo gave on the night of Sept15, 1810, that began Mexico’s rebellion from Spain.
