Andrea Doria sinks – 60th Anniversary

July 25, 1956. The Italian luxury liner collided with the Stockholm, a Swedish liner, on its way to New York. Other ships in the area came to the aid of the Andrea Doria. During the ordeal 1,634 people were rescued, including the captain and the crew.
