Our second blogiversary this month is that of GeneaBloggers President, Laura Hedgecock. Her blog, Treasure Chest of Memories, is 11 years old today.

Laura is kept busy with her genealogy interests and service. She is currently secretary of the Genealogical Speakers Guild, secretary of the Detroit Working Writers, and a member of the National Genealogical Society and the NonFiction Author Association in addition to serving as our GeneaBloggers’ President.

Laura is originally from South Carolina but has lived in the Detroit, Michigan metro area for decades.

In addition to a suggestion from her book publisher, Laura started her blog to discuss how we can write stories about ourselves and our family. She continues to blog today to give advice and tips on storytelling.

Three posts she’d like to share are:

Laura is active on social media and can be found on Facebook and on X, formerly known as Twitter, and on Pinterest.

Please visit Laura at Treasure Chest of Memories, not only to celebrate her blogiversary, but also to thank her for her service to GeneaBloggers.
