This month, GeneaBloggers is celebrating two blogiversaries two days in a row! Carolyn A. Thompson, CG, writes Getting2theRoots.

Carolyn was born in Arkansas, grew up in Michigan and currently lives in Arizona. In addition to being the newly elected Vice President of GeneaBloggers, she is a member of multiple genealogy-related groups on Facebook.

She began blogging on 9 June 2020 to share her passion for genealogy, to help others discover their roots, and to provide valuable resources for planning family reunions and writing ancestors’ stories.

The purpose of her blog is to offer tutorials, tips, guides, and stories about finding ancestors, genealogy research, building family trees, planning family reunions, and exploring the history of formerly enslaved individuals and their descendants.

To support that purpose, Carolyn would like to share three of her blog posts:

• Innovative Tools for Ancestral Research/Breaking New Ground
• Genealogy Brick Walls: How to Unlock the Secrets?
• Expert Guide: Black Family History Research

Carolyn is active on social media and can be found on YouTube, Pinterest, and Facebook.

Please congratulate Carolyn not only on her blogiversary, but also on her election as GeneaBloggers Vice President, 2024-2026.
