Thomas, thank you! I still get some snickers and snide remarks now and again, but the pendulum has swung! Genealogy is so far beyond the days of tracking names and numbers. Bloggers have helped to turn them into real living people!

Even though I’ve been doing genealogy research for 20+ years, because I was not “credentialed” I was not taken seriously. However, when I help someone find their ancestors and see the joy in their faces, that is enough of a “credential” for me.

Same with blogging. Although I am not a “professional” blogger, when I see how my posts have helped others with their genealogy, that is enough of a “credential” for me too.

Thank you Thomas and fellow Geneabloggers for providing great resources to help us improve and share our knowledge via blogs. And, thanks for pioneering the acceptance of genealogy bloggers!

(Although I hate to tell you this, but the next step in your analogy is potty training. Things might get a little messy.)
