If I were Queen of Roots Tech, the event would be held in the summer or a warmer weather season. No need to haul around coats, no worries about cold, snow, rain. I suspect the organizers want to be the first conference of the year and have it adjacent to other conferences occuring before it. That said, I do appreciate the live streaming and the free access to the syllabus. The high quality blog posts describing sessions attended and new-found links have also helped get a feel for it. But still, not the same as being there.
