I was fooling around with Ancestry.com’s calendar feature in My Canvas, mostly to get birth and anniversaries dates on a calendar for potential blog posts. However, I am think I will add old photos and get a 2011 calendar made for Christmas for my 82-year-old parents (who don’t really need anything and are thus hard to buy for!).

Thanks for the various tips in the previous post, especially on converting blog posts to books!

Two Christmases ago, I used Blurb.com to create a family history book for my paternal line and sent copies of the book to each of my Dad’s siblings. I was able to share my research, family photos and stories with the family. I hope to do the same for my mom’s siblings soon.

I recommend blurb for anyone looking to make a family history book that contains a lot of photos and original documents. It’s easy to use, not expensive and the end product is great.
