Genealogy Blog Carnivals

Don’t forget the Carnival of Irish Heritage and Culture, 10th Edition – hosted at Small Leaved Shamrock with entries due tomorrow Saturday, March 14th.

Sunday, March 15th is the deadline for the 68th Edition of the Carnival of Genealogy over at Creative Gene.  In honor of National Women’s History month, the theme is: A Tribute to Women.

Monday, March 16th is the deadline for the 15th Edition of the Cabinet of Curiosities held at Walking The Berkshires.

And don’t forget about Bound for Mom, an exciting new blog and self-publishing carnival right here at Geneabloggers!  Entries for the first mile post are due March 24th.

Surname Saturday

If you are a Twitter user, follow us @geneabloggers and join us tomorrow for Surname Saturday. Participants “tweet” about the surnames they are researching using the #surnames hashtag in each tweet. You can then search for other surname entries over at Twitter Search. Also consider joining the Genealogy Surnames group over at Twitter Groups.

You get Thomas MacEntee, a genealogy professional who’s also a blogger, educator, author, social media connector, online community builder and more. Thomas was laid off after a 25-year career in the information technology field, so he started his own genealogy-related business called High Definition Genealogy. He also created an online community of over 3,000 family history bloggers known as GeneaBloggers. His most recent endeavor, Hack Genealogy, is an attempt to “re-purpose today’s technology for tomorrow’s genealogy.” Thomas describes himself as a lifelong learner with a background in a multitude of topics who has finally figured out what he does best: teach, inspire, instigate, and serve as a curator and go-to-guy for concept nurturing and inspiration. Thomas is a big believer in success, and that we all succeed when we help each other find success.
