Wordless Wednesday September 30, 2009

Today is Wordless Wednesday. If you have your own genealogy or family history related blog, you can participate in Wordless Wednesday. What is it?

Wordless Wednesday is a daily blogging theme used by many genealogy bloggers to help them post content on their sites.

To participate in Wordless Wednesday simply create a post with the main focus being a photograph or image. Some people also include attribute information as to the source of the image (date, location, owner, etc.). Some have begun doing a “Not So Wordless Wednesday” with the main focus still being an image but there is a backstory to the image. You can read more about Wordless Wednsday here at gene@pedia.

Remember that Wednesday, September 30, 2009 is the final day to nominate your favorite genealogy blogs as part of Family Tree Magazines 40 Best Genealogy Blogs issue scheduled for May 2010.

All genealogists are asked to nominate their favorite genealogy blogs between September 3 and September 30, 2009.  You can nominate as many genealogy blogs as you want (you are not limited to just 40) and you can also nominate your own.

Once nominations are received, visitors to Family Tree Magazine will vote for their favorites from October 5 to November 5, 2009. Sign up for Family Tree Magazine‘s E-mail Update newsletter to be notified when voting is open.

You can nominate your favorite genealogy blogs here using Family Tree Magazine‘s nomination form.

And don’t forget to follow Family Tree Magazine and the “Family Tree 40″ contest on Twitter for contest updates (using the hashtag #FT40).
